Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 8th Annual SEED Food and Wine Festival 2022 and SEED Summit.

 

Our volunteers play a variety of roles throughout the weekend, the most important of which is providing our guests, talent and sponsors with a fantastic, one-of-a-kind experience.

 

Please read on for more information about the SEED Food and Wine Festival, volunteer roles, responsibilities and shift schedule.

Volunteers receive perks including Festival Day admission, meals, volunteer welcome swag bag and the super gratifying feeling of supporting the SEED plant-based movement!

FAQ

Does the Festival benefit any nonprofit organizations?

Yes, SEED’s mission is to not only, elevate conscious plant-based living here in South Florida, but to also support programs and non-profit organizations around the world that share the same vision. Therefore, proceeds from events during SEED will benefit Debris Free Oceans & Garage 22.

What volunteer roles are available and when are the shifts?

The Festival is January 26-29 in Miami. Volunteer shifts are available from Thursday, January 26 to Sunday, January 29.

 

Descriptions, role-specific requirements:

Door

Scanning tickets, placing wristbands on guests, check-in will call.

Greeter/ Gift Bag Distribution

Welcome guests, offer assistance as needed, pass out gift bags as guests depart.

Talent

Escort chefs and speakers to their stages for appearances and book signings.

Security

Act as the eyes and ears of the event – secure points of entry to ensure all guest arrive through the main entrance – report conflict and other situations to professional security personnel.

Bag Preparation

Stuff VIP and General Gift Bags with sponsor materials.

Usher (Demo & Seminar)

Assist guests and indicate general admission and VIP seating options, ADA and sign language areas.

Set up

Assist with the set up of events and the festival, includes moving boxes, setting up tables and chairs, hanging and placing banners and stanchions. 

Break down

Assist with the breakdown of the event, from tables, to signs, to chairs etc...

Recycle Concierge

Ensure guests use recycle and trash bins appropriately and explain the different disposal options.

Server

Present plates, pour wine, must be dressed in professional ALL black attire with closed toe shoes.

What are the requirements for volunteering at the Seed Food & Wine Festival?

In addition to role-specific requirements, all SEED volunteers must adhere to the volunteer policies and general requirements outlined below.

• Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

• Volunteers must attend one of the Volunteer Orientation sessions offered in October. Orientation dates and location will be announced soon

• Volunteers must report for duty on time (at least 15 minutes before scheduled shift) and stay for the entire shift. Volunteers should check in with their assigned volunteer captain upon arrival to their assigned event.

• Volunteers must be courteous, respectful and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

• Volunteers may not smoke, eat or drink in public while on duty. 

• Use of alcohol and/or controlled substances before or while on duty is strictly prohibited. Violators will be subject to immediate dismissal.

• Failure to perform duties as expected/required may result in dismissal and will affect future participation as a volunteer.

BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING

What benefits will volunteers receive for volunteering at the Seed Food & Wine Festival?

Volunteers will receive one (1) complimentary Festival Day ticket, PLANT-BASED Burger Battle ticket, blOOM BRUNCH or SEED SUMMIT ticket in return for (2) two shift worked. You will also get to stay at certain events your volunteering for after your shift is over or before your shift starts (Plant-Based Burger Battle, SEED Festival Day Tasting Village, SEED Summit, Bloom Brunch)

 

Volunteers also receive a 2021 SEED Food & Wine Festival volunteer t-shirt to wear while on duty. Limit one t-shirt per volunteer. If you sign up to volunteer on more than one day, you must make arrangements to wash and wear your volunteer t-shirt to subsequent shifts. Please do not wear your volunteer t-shirt to any events when you are not on duty. Water, and snacks will be provided in designated volunteer break areas.

  

DRESS CODE & WEATHER

Is there a dress code for volunteers?

Yes, most volunteers will be provided a 2022 Seed Food & Wine Festival volunteer t-shirt to wear while on duty and are asked to wear the following items depending on the event.

PLANT-BASED Burger Battle

You will be provided a volunteer shirt, you should wear nice jeans or dress pants, and closed toe shoes.

​

Dinners

You must be in an ALL black dress, or black dress pants and black dress shirt, with nice black closed toe shoes. Tie or bow tie is optional.

​

Festival day, Seed Summit and BLOOM Brunch You will be provided a volunteer shirt, you should wear comfortable dress shorts or jeans or a skirt with closed toe shoes, nice sneakers are preferred.

  

Is the event cancelled

if it rains or there is

bad weather?

No. All events are rain or shine event and indoor or tented options will be available.
